“Up to no good”

I was listening to the musicians MF DOOM and Sade and I was inspired by MF DOOM’s music and persona. I saw an image in my head of his mask and decided to go for it at a grand scale.

I had historically worked with vibrant colors and abstract representations of various artists (Caravaggio, Basquiat, and Picasso), so it was a challenge for myself to make something with less color look visually interesting and impactful. I thought to myself, “if MF DOOM saw this, would he want it for his album cover?”
